Corrections Policy
Updated May 13, 2026
We correct factual errors promptly and transparently. Here is how we do it.
What we correct
Factual errors of any kind: misspellings of names, wrong dates, inaccurate quotes, misattributed sources, misstated law, misidentified courts or judges, broken links, formatting errors, accessibility issues. We treat every reader-reported correction as a priority.
How to request a correction
Email [email protected] with:
- The URL of the article where the error appears
- A description of what is wrong
- What it should say, with a primary source if possible
We aim to respond to correction requests within two business days and to correct verified errors within five business days.
How corrections appear
Material corrections (changing a name, a date, a substantive claim) are flagged with a clear "Correction" note at the bottom of the article, including the date of the correction and a brief description of what changed. Typographical corrections (typos, broken links, accessibility fixes) are made silently. Major retractions, on the rare occasions they are necessary, are explained in a separate Editor's Note at the top of the affected article.
Public record of corrections
Major corrections are noted on the affected article and acknowledged in the next available editorial newsletter or roundup. As of updated may 13, 2026, we have not yet issued any material corrections.
